Falls of Shin
Next stop is the Falls of Shin, where you might be luck enough to see a Salmon leap.
There are viewing platforms beside the falls where you can watch this spectacle as fish of all sizes battle against the water. While the fish face the most difficult task in trying to clear the falls to finish their long journey visitors face the challenge of trying to photograph that fleeting moment when a large salmon leaps completely clear of the water!
Dunrobin Castle and Falconry Display
Next on the itinerary is the wonderful Dunrobin Castle, a castle that really looks like its out of a fairy tale. Dunrobin is the most northerly of Scotland’s great houses and the largest in the Northern Highlands with 189 rooms. Dunrobin Castle is also one of Britain’s oldest continuously inhabited houses dating back to the early 1300s, home to the Earls and later, the Dukes of Sutherland. You can also watch the wonderful Falconry display on the stunning grounds of Dunrobin.
Royal Burgh of Dornoch
Have a stroll around the beautiful seaside town of Dornoch, with its Cathedral, Old Town Jail and world famous Golf Course along with its quaint Highland shops it’s the ideal place for a little stroll or a bite to eat.
