Privacy policy

Last updated 23 October 2026

This policy explains how MacIver Tours & Transfers Ltd, trading as Highland Tony, uses the personal details you give us. We run private tours and transfers across Scotland from Inverness, and we are the data controller for your details.

What we collect

• Your name, email address and phone number
• Your travel dates, group size, pick-up points and the tours you are interested in
• Anything else you choose to tell us, such as special occasions, access needs or dietary requirements
• Payment records for bookings (we do not store card numbers)

How we use it

We use your details to reply to your enquiry, plan and quote your trip, and arrange and run your booking. The legal basis is taking steps at your request before a contract, and then carrying out that contract. We also keep records we are required to keep by law, such as for tax.

We do not sell your details. We will only send you news or greetings, such as a Christmas message, if you have said yes to that, and you can say no at any time.

Who we share it with

Only where it is needed to deliver your trip: for example a partner guide or driver covering your tour, or a venue, ferry or attraction you have asked us to book. Our email, website hosting and booking systems are run by service providers who process data on our behalf and keep it secure. If you book through a site such as Viator or GetYourGuide, or contact us through social media or WhatsApp, those companies also handle your details under their own privacy policies.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not lead to a booking are deleted within 12 months. Booking and payment records are kept for 6 years to meet UK tax and accounting rules.

Photos

We sometimes take photos on tour. We only use photos of you on our website or social media if you have agreed, and you can ask us to remove them at any time.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask to see, correct or delete your details, ask us to limit how we use them, or object to how we use them. Contact us using the details below and we will reply within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your details, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
